Privacy

Whether you’re browsing the site, booking a class, or getting in touch about a commission — this policy covers how we handle your information.

1. What We Collect

We collect a few things, but only what we need to run the studio, book classes, and stay in touch with you.

Here’s what that might include:

  • Basic contact details (name, email, phone, and an address if we’re delivering work) when you fill in a form or message us

  • Analytics data (page views, time on site, device type) collected through privacy-friendly, cookie-free tools

  • Commission details if you’re working with us — reference photographs, site measurements, and feedback

  • Class details if you or your child are enrolled — age group, term dates, and any allergies or access needs you tell us about

2. What We Use It For

We only use what we collect for things that actually make sense. Like:

  • Replying to your enquiry and quoting your commission

  • Sending term dates, class reminders, and progress photographs while we’re working together

  • Keeping students safe, which means knowing about allergies and who is collecting a child

  • Understanding which pages people actually read, so we write about things worth reading

We don’t use your data to spam you, retarget you, or hand it to a third-party sales list.

3. How We Store It

Personal data is stored securely and seen only by the two of us. Reference photographs and site measurements sit in a password-protected drive and are archived for backup only. Anything a family shares for a memorial or private portrait is kept separately and never used as reference for anything else.

4. Third-Party Tools

Like most studios, we lean on a few trusted tools:

  • Plausible – for anonymous, cookie-free site statistics

  • Email – for quotes, class confirmations, and progress photographs

  • A card payment provider – for deposits, balances, and class fees

  • Cloud storage – for reference photographs and the finished-work archive

These tools may collect basic usage data, but we don’t give them access to your personal information unless it is needed to complete a commission or a booking.

5. Cookies

We run no advertising or tracking cookies at all. Our analytics are cookie-free, so there is nothing to accept or dismiss when you arrive.

6. Your Rights

You can always:

  • Ask what data we hold on you

  • Request a copy of it

  • Ask us to delete it at any time

  • Tell us to stop contacting you

To do any of that, email hello@articulate.studio — no forms, no hoops.

7. Data Retention

If you commission a piece, we keep the reference photographs, your name and contact details for our records and any future work. If you enquire and nothing comes of it, we delete the enquiry after 12 months. Class records are kept for one year after a term ends.

We never hold on to anything longer than we need to.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this page from time to time. If we do, we’ll post the change here and update the date below.
