We paint murals, portraits and commissions by hand — and we teach anyone who wants to learn. Brushes, not screens.

Why Articulate?
We don’t sell prints of somebody else’s idea. Articulate paints original work for walls, rooms and people and teaches the rest of the city to do the same.
Every age
One studio, six to ninety-six. Kids on Saturdays, adults on weeknights, families in between.

FAQ
The questions we get asked most, answered plainly. Still have one? Call the studio and ask.
How soon can you start a mural?
Usually two to four weeks, depending on the weather and the queue. Small interior pieces can often start sooner.
Do I need any experience to join a class?
None at all. Most people who walk in have not painted since school. That is exactly who the classes are built for.
What ages do you teach?
Six to ninety-six. Kids on Saturday mornings, adults on weeknights, and mixed family sessions once a month.
What if I do not like the first sketch?
Then we sketch again. Every commission includes three concept rounds before a drop of paint touches the wall.
How does a commission actually work?
A visit, a measure, three sketches, then paint. You get photographs at the end of every day we are on site.
How do payments work?
A third to hold the dates, a third when the sketch is signed off, the rest when it is finished. Classes are paid per term.
